What is a covert Camera?  

A covert camera can be described as one which allows a location or area to be monitored without users of that area being aware of the fact.

Covert cameras may simply be a discreet unit, although more typically the camera unit itself will be disguised as or concealed within something else, i.e. a clock.

Whilst there are many valid applications for covert CCTV surveillance (i.e. monitoring cash handling by staff behind the bar of a busy pub), anyone considering employing such measures must consider very carefully, issues such as privacy of the individual as well as the legality of the proposed application.
