Vidilanz cameras, offer an ideal solution for a wide range of security and safety applications. Ideal for monitoring temporary problem hot spots in schools (i.e. fire door misuse, vandalism, graffiti, etc), covert surveillance of fly tipping sites, monitoring stock rooms and other trusted areas against pilfering and theft, recording visitors to your home, office, school, etc.

This clever unit looks like (and is) a fully functioning PIR detector of the type as used for building alarm systems. What makes this unit unique however, is the fact that it contains a fully functional colour CCTV camera which thanks to sophisticated electronics (patent applied for) will run for up to 9 weeks continuously on the rechargeable internal battery (compare this with the previous generation of device which offered at best a few days, or more typically hours, operation from a fully charged battery). 

Stores up to 65,000 digital images on an SD memory card. Recorded images are encrypted for security and stored in compressed JPEG format. Each image is time and date stamped, with an option to add a digital signature watermark. 

Stored images can be viewed by simply removing the SD card from the camera and plugging it into your PCs memory card reader, your PDA, etc., alternatively, the images can be viewed on your TV via Sandisk Photo Album (or equivalent).

The wireless camera unit is powered by its internal battery and is completely stand alone, so there is absolutely no wiring required. Fixing into position is quick and simple, it can be permanently screwed to a wall, etc., or for temporary monitoring of an area, can even be fixed in position using adhesive backed velcro pads. Its PIR detector appearance, means that it is unlikely to be spotted as a camera by anyone not familiar with the unit, making it ideal for general use or covert applications.

You are in complete control of the recording - although typically the unit is set up to record on motion detection, as an alternative, you can set it to record on an external trigger such as a door opening, or you can select Time Lapse recording mode. In time lapse mode, you specify the frequency with which the images will be recorded (minimum of 4 seconds between each recording in time lapse mode). You also set the image size (VGA or QVGA). VGA offers higher resolution images, whilst the smaller format QVGA option means that you can store many more images on the memory card. Clicking on the continuous record option during set-up means that when the memory card is full, the system will continue to record by overwriting the oldest stored image with the current image. Customising recording options, etc. is quickly and easily achieved by plugging the memory card into your PC and following the on-screen instructions produced by the setup software, alternatively you can simply opt to use the factory default settings..

The clever Pre-trigger capture feature, means that when the unit is set to record on motion detection - it also captures up to 3 seconds worth of images (up to 20 images) leading up to the time that motion was detected.

The standard package includes a high quality CMOS camera with infra-red motion sensor (and alarm input / output connectors), memory card and a rechargeable internal Lithium Ion battery
