Torx tamper proof screws or Torx Tamper Resistant (TorxTR) are terms typically used to to describe 5-Lobe Torx screws like this 5-Lobe Torx Button Head machine screw.
5-Lobe Torx screws are manufactured from A4 grade Stainless Steel. They feature a special 5 lobe drive head which enhances security but requires appropriate tooling for installation and removal.
Developed as an alternative to the standard 6 lobe Resistorx security torx screw, these 5-Lobe Torx screws offer a higher level of security compared to the standard 6 lobe security torx version, thanks to greater restriction on the availability of the matching security driver tooling.
With a flat underside to the Button head of this screw, when it is installed through or into a flat surface, only the attractive domed head of the screw is visible, making it a favourite with architects among others
