Bird Free Fire Gel - Case Study - Crawley Car Park

Just off the M23 and about halfway between Brighton and London, the West Sussex town of Crawley boasts a population of around 100,0
The Town Hall Car Park has however, until recently been plagued by pigeon fouling, which is not only unsightly, but also poses a significant health risk.00 and a busy shopping centre.
On 20 April 2011, pigeon-infested areas on all 10 storeys of Crawley’s Town Hall Exchange Road Car Park were cleaned, and Bird Free Fire Gel bird repellent was then applied.
The Problem:
Several pairs of pigeons had taken up residence in the car park.
They had been nesting in there for some time and had therefore established it as their habitat.
...members of the public and staff however using the car park, had been complaining regularly about the unsightly appearance as well as the potential health risks associated with the bird droppings.
...and there were also concerns about the potential damage bird droppings cause to car paintwork.
The Solution:
The site was cleaned of accumulated pigeon droppings and the new Bird Free repellent gel was applied where the pigeons had been roosting, nesting and perching.
Bird Free Gel filled dishes were fixed along ledges and pipe-work used by the pigeons
...and since the installation there has been no sign of the pigeons returning.
Commenting on the results one month later, Alan Lagden, Crawley Borough Council’s building services manager said:
Several pairs of pigeons had been nesting inside the car park for some time, and we had been receiving regular complaints from members of the public and from staff, about the mess.
Since Bird Free was applied I haven’t seen a pigeon.
In my experience it’s been 100% effective.
