Our goal is to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2030, and throughout our journey to achieving that target, we will take action to minimise our impact on the environment and to leave a positive legacy where we work.
Energy Use
- optimising our use of energy within our buildings, including heat and power, ensuring compliance with all current legislation and working toward the use of 100% produced renewable energy.
Waste Reduction
- minimising waste, reusing items and materials where viable and ensuring responsible recycling of any other goods or materials.
Packaging
- optimising packaging for our outgoing goods, and working with our suppliers to improve the green credentials of incoming goods and packaging.
Staff travel
- optimisation of staff commuting and necessary business travel.
Outbound shipping / distribution of goods
- use of cost effective and reliable distribution partners such as preferred national couriers, able to demonstrate their own plans and progress toward carbon reduction.
Staff and Partner Awareness
- promoting environmental awareness and responsibility among employees and suppliers, to secure their support and full commitment for our company objectives and activities.
In order to measure our progress toward our end goal, it has been important to understand how to calculate our carbon footprint and to identify its level at the start of our journey.
Our commitment to Corporate and Social Responsibilities has led our Management Team to actively review and make changes and improvements to our business operation since 2018.
We know that these changes have had a positive impact on reducing our carbon footprint, however without a reliable earlier benchmark to measure against, we are using 2024 as our ESG starting point for monitoring emissions against a benchmark footprint calculated at the end of 2023.
A formalised carbon reduction plan with annual reduction targets is currently being prepared along with an appropriate reporting structure.
Our carbon emissions are being calculated using the “Clean Growth” Calculator developed by University of Portsmouth and supplied by Brighton University.
To ensure success along our journey to Net Zero, the “Insight Security Management Team” are charged with the responsibility for reviewing and modifying our carbon reduction strategy as needed, and for planning, measuring and monitoring our progress against target. They are also responsible for maintaining the ongoing enthusiastic commitment of all staff in support of our program and to achieving our targets.
A formal annual Management Team “Carbon Reduction Review Meeting” will be scheduled in December of each year, supplemented by quarterly and interim meetings, scheduled as required.
