As part of our Social Responsibility commitment to supporting our local community, Insight Security has purchased and installed a Defibrillator in a prominent external position at their offices at;
Unit 2 Cliffe Industrial Estate, Lewes, East Sussex, BN8 6JL
Web Address: www.insight-security.com
What 3 Words: contour.dreading.subway
As it is installed externally, the unit is available for emergency use, 24/7, making it the only Defibrillator currently on the Cliffe Industrial Estate in Lewes, for use by the workforce or visitors at the estate, at any time, day or night.
The unit is mounted in a weatherproof, high visibility yellow cabinet and has an internal light to aid visibility at night.
These units are protected against the misuse of, or accidental damage to the Defibrillator, by an external codelock mounted on the cabinet door to prevent non-emergency access, and the unit is also monitored by CCTV.
The unit is registered with the ambulance service and can be accessed in an emergency by dialling 999. The operator answering the call will initiate an ambulance despatch, and will give the caller the code number for the cabinet door codelock, which will allow access to the Defibrillator itself. The operator will remain on the line to give instructions for removing the Defibrillator from the cabinet and readying it for immediate use, and will offer any other advice needed.
These smart devices automatically deliver clear audible and visual step by step instructions on what to do, making them easy for anyone to use, with no previous training or experience needed. The unit also monitors the vital signs of the person needing attention, and will offer new or revised instructions as needed to deliver the most effective treatment until the ambulance arrives.
On a practical note, if someone has stopped breathing and is in need of urgent assistance, it is important to start CPR chest pumping immediately (and continue with it), so if possible, get a third person to call 999 to get the code to access the defibrillator and to listen to and pass on the guidance offered by the 999 operator.
These are invaluable and costly medical devices, so please treat any Defibrillator you come across with care and respect, as they are proven to provide critical life-saving aid in an emergency.
Insight Security carry out a variety of maintenance checks on the unit, weekly, monthly and annually, to ensure that it is always ready for use in an emergency.
We sincerely hope that you will never need to use a defibrillator to help save a life, but please make sure that you, your friends & family, and your colleagues, know the locations where you can find one in an emergency.
