Often used alongside our security metal detectors (see: Security Metal Detectors) and other search equipment, these robust Random Search Selectors - offer a simple, reliable and guaranteed “Unbiased” way to select persons (from a group) to be searched (when it is either impractical or undesirable to search everyone passing through a control point).

Announcing the Exciting New Updated Model

This exciting new model features an attractive and contoured redesign of the casing and comes complete with a detachable wall or desk mounting bracket. Whilst the unit delivers the same reliable performance from the internal processor, other features of the new unit include a ruggedized battery housing and easier access to the selection rate dipswitches.

Although designed primarily as a versatile and mobile battery powered unit, the new unit also incorporates a power input socket for an external 12v power, which allows the unit to be powered from a mains supply if preferred source (a 13amp adaptor type universal 12v power supply is available as a separately orderable product).

This battery powered version of the Random Search Selector operates in a similar way to its mains powered big brother, but is powered by 3 x AA batteries which typically offer over 12 months operation (a fresh set of batteries will typically offer up to 50,000 activations of the Search or Pass Button or up to 2 years standby).

Designed originally for use with vehicle / driver selection, for search or inspection activity, this versatile unit has also been adopted for a wide range of other applications. The internal dipswitch settings determine the search selection rate (from 0-100% in 5% increments), whilst the robust 50mm(diam.) push button is the trigger mechanism

Product has not been used yet. However exact this model has been purchased many years ago and has proven to be very quality product withstanding high stress and usage iterations. This specific purchase is intended to be used at a security gate and entrance to oil and gas facilities for 2 reasons. 1 is to have random bag checks while passing security gate entering premises of living quarters. This is to ensure no prohibited items are entering facility area. Number of personnel passing through security gate is very high (over 5000 daily) and not possible to check everyone. 2. It is used for random alcohol test for personnel entering processing plant area.
