Roller Barrier in Schools
Kids love a challenge, and they also love climbing ...so it`s hardly surprising that so many schools suffer from pupils climbing onto flat roofs, scaling parts of the building, climbing over walls, gates and fences, etc.
The motive for climbing onto a flat roof may be as innocent as retrieving a wayward football, however unless something is done to prevent climbers, schools can find themselves exposed to a wide range of avoidable issues including; mindless "Vandalism" or "Graffiti" attacks, or even "Burglary", where access is gained through less well secured upper floor doors and windows, etc. There`s also of course the possibility of a pupil sustaining an injury while climbing, which could lead to a costly and time consuming " No Win No Fee" type compensation claim.
Installing proven, cost effective anti climb products, is therefore high on the priority list for many schools and often the use of a mixture of different types of anti climb product will provide the most practical and effective overall solution.

Like many schools, this one was faced with the problem of pupils climbing on to its many flat roofs. The solution adopted involved the installation of a mixture of various types of anti climb product supplied by Insight Security. |
The flat roofs were protected by fitting single row of Roller Barrier anti climb product to the facia boards on the accessible faces of the building. |
Here, Roller Barrier is preventing access to the flat roof area, whilst Prikla Strip anti climb spikes are fitted to the top surface of the ledge 1/2 metre above the arched entrance door and Razor Spike 11 is installed horizontally, immediately below the coping stone of the top parapet. |

The flat roof of the toilet block was a favourite access point, but the Roller Barrier installation has solved the problem. |
To protect a street face of the building, a (Razor Spike 11) spiked collar was fitted (above easy reach height) to the lamp post, and a horizontal row of Razor Spike 11 anti climb spikes were installed immediately below the top parapet. |
