Shaft Fitting – Base Plate Internal Socket

Manufactured from cast iron the Base Plate unit is hot-dip galvanised to protect against weathering.

The Base Plate Internal Socket, provides a quick and easy way to fix one end of a Roller Barrier or Vandgard Anti-climb Barrier shaft to a wall, post, etc. and unlike the Wall Bracket Internal Socket, can be fixed securely to a brick surface without putting undue stress at the edges of the brick.

As with the Wall Bracket Internal Socket unit however, these units are not suitable for installion as an anti-climb barrier across an alleyway or between two adjacent buildings, as to provide a secure fixing at both ends, the barrier would have to be fully assembled and held in position before the Internal Sockets could be fixed to the walls.

The Base Plate Internal Socket is easy to use and requires a standard Allen Key to tighten or release the grub screws which grip the shafts.

The Base Plate Internal Socket product, features two grub screws to secure the shaft into the internal socket, providing additional grip and therefore more security than is offered by the Wall Bracket Internal Socket.

For added security, at time of installation, the standard grubs screws supplied with the unit can be replaced with optional security grubs, which require special matching security Allen Key to tighten or release.
