Shear Bolts or Shear Head Screws have a break-away hexagonal drive head which makes this one-way screw, very difficult to remove once installed.
Installed with a standard box or ring spanner, or a socket drive, the bolts are available with either a countersunk or button style head, so there is bound to be one that`s right for your application.

Shear-bolts are "One-way" anti tamper security bolts. To install them, a standard spanner is used to tighten the bolt via the nut-like Hexagonal Drive Head.
Once maximum torque is reached and the bolt is fully tightened, the hexagonal drive head simply shears off, leaving no way to undo the bolt again with the spanner.
Shear bolts are popular with the construction industry, but can be used to secure any item permanently in position.
They are quick, easy and convenient to use and provide a robust permanent fastening for use internally or outdoors
Shearbolts are manufactured from Stainless Steel (A2 grade), and are "Available from Stock" in Button Head Format - in a limited range of sizes (from M6 to M12) and lengths.
Bespoke Manufacturing
Please Note: shear bolts in other materials (i.e. BZP or Galvanised steel), gauges, lengths, or countersunk head style shear bolts can be bespoke manufactured to order, - subject to minimum order quantities and manufacturing lead time. - Please call for further details or to discuss your needs: 01273 475500.
The shear bolt is a one-way fastening that can be tightened using a conventional type spanner (not supplied) of the appropriate size - so it requires no special security driver tool to install.
