Sold Secure Hasps and Padbars

Sold Secure Testing is your guarantee of product quality and potential performance in the field.

Originally established as a police initiative, Sold Secure is now administered by the MLA (Master Locksmiths Association).

Sold Secure has devised a variety of standard tests for different types, style and size of products, where each test is performed with a common set of tools appropriate to that product and for a specified time duration.

For Security Hasps and Padbars, tests will result in a Sold Secure Gold (highest), Sold Secure Silver, or Sold Secure Bronze Rating.

The tests ensure a level playing field for manufacturers, so if a Hasp submitted for testing by XYZ Co, achieves a Sold Secure Gold accreditation, but a similar hasp from Joe Bloggs & Co only achieves Sold Secure Silver, you have a clear indication of which is the more robust product, as both products will have been subjected to an identical test with a pre-defined set of tools and timed test duration.

Of course not all hasps are, or should be, submitted for testing.

It would be pointless to submit a small hasp designed to add low level security for a toolbox for testing, as it would obviously fail.

On the other hand, for a hasp or padbar intended to beef up security at a warehouse door, the level of security will be a key criteria for the buyer, so a Sold Secure Rating will offer a valuable guide.
