Traffic Flow Plates Multi-Purpose, surface mount, excl.fixings

Traffic flow plates are designed to control traffic flow by allowing vehicles to pass over them in just one direction. They provide a simple, low cost, unattended means, of preventing vehicles from entering a site, car park, etc. via a designated exit point, thus improving safety and reducing the likely-hood of accidents.

All of our Traffic Flow Plates are manufactured to a high standard and feature sound deadening rubber bumpers to reduce noise levels as traffic passes over them.

Manufactured from heavy duty steel plate, they are ideal for use in one way systems, car parks, preventing residential areas turning into `Rat Runs`, etc.

The units simply bolt to the road surface, making installation quick and easy. The rising flow restrictor plate allows vehicle wheels to pass over it in one direction only.

As soon as the vehicle has cleared the plate, the powerful spring mechanism ensures the immediate return of the restrictor plate to the raised position.

These "Multi Purpose Traffic Flow Plates" are designed to effectively and safely control the flow of vehicles from the family saloon car to HGVs and feature a 115mm high flow restrictor flap.

Each Plate is designed to support 10 tons per axle, while robust springs raise the flap again immediately the vehicle wheel has passed over it and heavy duty rubber bumpers mounted on the underside of the flap minimise the noise of vehicles passing over the unit.

Flow Plates for other vehicles

For HGVs, larger vans and 4x4s, the standard flow plate will not provide adequate deterrence to travelling over the plate in the wrong direction, which is why we offer alternative flowplates to cope with these situations

Our HGV Traffic Flow-Plate is designed to withstand a much heavier axle weight than the standard plate and features a higher Flow Restrictor Flap (203mm). These units can however not be used in locations where cars or vans may travel over them as the sprung flap could cause damage to the underside of the vehicle passing over them.

see our - HGV Traffic Flow Plates for further details.

Our Standard Traffic Flow Plate is designed to be used in locations where a mixture of vehicle types will pass over the installed plates. These units are designed to withstand up to 1 ton axle weight and are fitted with a reduced height Restrictor Flap (100mm) to accommodate cars, vans, etc.

see our - Standard Traffic Flow Plates (for car & van control)  for further details.

Choice of Fixings (fixings must be ordered separately);

Because the surface to which the Surface Mount Flow Plates are to be installed will vary according to location, we offer a choice of optional fixing packs to suit concrete or asphalt surfaces as required and which must be ordered separately.

You will need to order one Concrete or Asphalt fixing pack for each Flow Plate - see below;

- for each Standard flow Plate, you will need 1 x 6 fixing pack

- for each HGV or Multi-Purpose Flow Plate, you will need 1 x 8 fixing pack.

Notes:

  • All our Flow Plates are made in the UK to the original Flow Plate design, other flow plates imported to the UK are often made of thinner material and less resilient to the day to day wear and tear placed upon them.
  • Although Flow Plates are a stock item, at times of high demand, manufacturing and restocking could take up to 1-2 weeks, please speak to a member of our team for current lead-time if the units are required urgently.
  • Speed restrictor bumps can be installed to reduce the speed of traffic approaching the flow plates and suitable speed restriction signs may also be displayed.
